We stayed here in June 2025 for a staycation using our Accor Plus Stay Plus certificate. This was our third time staying at Swissotel The Stamford, and it’s usually difficult to secure a night here during the National Day Parade rehearsal weekends, so we got lucky when we found availability using Stay Plus.

The room

Our room was originally booked into the Premier Marina Bay View room, which came with a King plus bed. This required a top-up of around S$40 before taxes, as it wasn’t the lead-in room category. At check-in, we were told that our room had been upgraded to a Swiss Marina Bay View room as an Accor Platinum member. Frankly, it’s the same as a Premier Marina Bay View room, but located on higher floors.

At 40 sqm, the room felt spacious, with a cosy seating nook by the window that looks out to the amazing Marina Bay skyline.

Here’s what it looks like from the balcony. It does get quite sunny during the day, but not really an issue since there are double curtains, one sheer and one blackout.

Here’s another look at the Swiss Marina Bay View room: the entrance opens into a short walkway that leads to the main bedroom area. An umbrella was thoughtfully placed near the door, it’s not often you find one in the room itself. Considering Singapore’s often sunny weather, it was a welcome touch. The King plus-sized bed is spacious and incredibly comfy.

The bathroom had both a bathtub and an attached shower, plus Purovel bath products, which I learned is Swissotel’s own brand – I really liked the subtle flowery and herbal scents.

There was a filtered tap for drinking water, and the hotel had thoughtfully provided some glass bottles so we could fill them up. Singapore’s tap water is famously clean, but I wouldn’t mind having the filtered tap water, though! Just keep in mind that the water isn’t chilled, so if you want it cold, you can put the glass bottles in the fridge.

Level 65 Lounge

Situated on the 65th floor of the hotel, the executive lounge is aptly named the Level 65 Lounge. It occupies the entire floor, together with the gym reserved for hotel guests with access to the lounge. Because the hotel’s layout is circular, you get sweeping views in every direction, not just of Marina Bay, but pretty much all of Singapore.

There was also a private section set aside just for Crest Suite guests. I popped in for a quick look since it happened to be unlocked. There’s no food served here during evening drinks, though from what I’ve read, they used to have some food options before the pandemic. The views from here face Fort Canning – still nice, but not quite the main event (more on that soon).

Unfortunately, I didn’t snap any photos of the food this time, but it looks like Swissotel is moving towards healthier choices these days. There was a vegetarian option with mock meat which is not really my favourite though. Besides that, they still had all the usual hot dishes and cold cuts, so you won’t go hungry.

Views from the lounge

The views from the lounge are an absolute delight, especially those facing the Padang, where the National Day Parade rehearsals happen. We stayed past 8 pm to catch the fireworks. What an incredible way to end the evening!

As a pro tip, you actually don’t need to book a Marina Bay View room as an Accor Platinum member; you can simply enjoy the show from the balconies at the L65 Lounge. It’s a great spot with unbeatable views.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available at the Asian Market Cafe or Clove if it’s included with your room rate. As an Accor Platinum member, you can also enjoy breakfast at the L65 Lounge.

I’ve tried all three and would recommend heading to the restaurants. They offer an amazing spread with far more variety. If breakfast is included in your room rate, you can try either or even both if your tummy allows.

If you’re staying in a club room or are an Accor Platinum member, the L65 Lounge is another option, but personally, I’d still recommend the restaurants for the full experience.

One standout feature at Clove is the orange juice machine, it literally squeezes fresh juice right in front of you. I’ve seen these in some European supermarkets, where you can grab fresh oranges instead of the usual carton juice, but I’d never actually tried it until now. I absolutely loved it, and honestly, I’d say Clove serves one of the best hotel breakfasts in Singapore, especially among 5-star hotels.

Clove offers an international buffet-style breakfast, with everything from Western to Indian dishes. There’s also a made-to-order egg station. On the other hand, Asian Market Cafe focuses more on local cuisine unique to Singapore and the Southeast Asian region. I don’t have much pics of Asian Market Cafe this time round except for the Teh Tarik station, named after Jalan Kayu, a popular supper spot in northeast Singapore.

Final thoughts

All things considered, I found the stay at Swissotel The Stamford to be great value for money. The breakfast spread was genuinely impressive, especially at Clove with its international variety and that fresh-squeezed orange juice machine which was a real highlight. The local flavors at Asian Market Cafe added a unique touch, rounding out a well-balanced start to the day. It’s a good place to use your Stay Plus certificate for a local staycation, or even if you’re visiting Singapore on a trip.

Location-wise, you can’t beat being right in the heart of Marina Bay, near City Hall MRT. It’s close to Singapore’s two original MRT lines, so you can get anywhere easily, with direct connections to Changi Airport via the MRT line.

Whether you’re here for the views, National Day Parade rehearsals, or simply to soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere, this hotel really delivers on both experience and convenience.
