# Review: Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge T2 (SIN)

I flew out of Terminal 2 in mid-May 2026 on United Airlines to San Francisco for a work trip. We visited the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Terminal 2 before our flight.

The lounge is currently mid-renovation. Singapore Airlines [announced a S$45 million investment](https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/sg/corporate/newsroom/press-release/2025/april-may/changi_airport_t2_lounges/) in its Terminal 2 lounges in April 2025, with work carried out in phases. The new First Class SilverKris Lounge was the first phase, with construction of the Business Class SilverKris expansion following from Q4 2025, and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge from H1 2026. The full project is expected to wrap up around mid-2027. As of my visit, a big chunk of the lounge was still closed off. What’s open is a smaller, temporary setup of what will eventually be a much larger space.

## Location and access

The lounge is located **airside in Terminal 2** on **level 3**, closer to the departure gates F. Follow the signs after immigration towards the Singapore Airlines lounges. The entrance is right beside the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Access is for Business Class passengers on Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance partner airlines. I was flying United Airlines in Polaris, so that got me in.

Singapore Airlines runs a tiered lounge system here. If you’re flying Business Class, you get the SilverKris access. If you’re a Star Alliance Gold member in economy, you get the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, which is one level below instead. Status alone won’t get you into the SilverKris if you’re not in a business class cabin, which catches some people off guard since at most other Star Alliance hubs, Gold status is enough for the main business lounge regardless of what cabin you’re in.

My colleague was initially sent to the SATS Premier Lounge at the check-in counter, given that it is the contract lounge for United Airlines. He knew better and came over to the SilverKris instead. If you’re in a similar situation and eligible for both, there’s really no contest. The food, showers, and seating here all outclass SATS Premier Lounge by a comfortable margin, even in the lounge’s current reduced state.

## Layout

The current layout is an inverted L-shape. You enter, turn right, then left again into a long hallway. It feels compact compared to the Terminal 3 SilverKris, though that’s partly because of the renovation cutting off a section, so I would expect this to be less of a problem once the expanded section is open by the end of 2026.

Upon entering, there is also a small section where Singapore Airlines employees could attend to enquiries.

Walking down the hall, there are seating options on both sides, but most of them are dining tables and a little bit of armchairs when you enter. Enough variety that you can find somewhere to eat, work, or just sit back before your flight.

At the far end, you reach the dining area with proper dining tables. We were here early in the morning and it was very crowded already.

To the right of that is a larger hall with lounge sofas and a handful of productivity pods, similar to the ones at the T3 SilverKris. International power sockets are available at the sofas and productivity pods, but not at the dining tables. Wi-Fi seemed fine despite the crowd, though I didn’t run a speed test. The windows on this side don’t offer much of a view. Hopefully the expanded section will fix that.

## Food and drinks

Coffee comes from a **Boncafé** machine, which is self-service. There is no live barista here, unlike the T3 SilverKris. That’s honestly the one thing I’d most want to see carried over to T2 when the new area opens. **Oatside** oat milk is available alongside regular milk, and there’s infused water on the side.

The drinks cabinet had **Tiger beer**,**Perrier**, **Coke**, some othermixers, **coconut water**, and **Cass beer**.

The alcohol selection had wine, whisky, and spirits, with frosted beer glasses alongside. **Piper-Heidsieck Essentiel** champagne was available, plus a broader wine selection.

The buffet island in the centre had a mix of Asian and Indian options. **Lor mai kai**, **chicken and prawn siew mai**, **vegetable cabbage and mushroom gyoza**, and **pulut hitam** were among the offerings.

Off to the side, there’s a **live noodle station**. You can get **laksa**, or build your own noodle bowl with toppings like **hard-boiled egg**, **homemade fish cake**, **beancurd skin**, and various **meatballs**. The toppings leaned on the processed side, but the laksa base itself was decent enough.

The menu here is a bit confusing though. Some people around me thought you could DIY your own laksa with the toppings, but you can’t. The laksa is a standalone order from the live noodle station. If you go the DIY noodle route, it comes with a regular clear soup base by default. You can ask for the laksa soup base instead, but that’s not obvious from the signage. A few folks were visibly confused and the staff had to explain the process.

There was also a bread station with pastries, and a yoghurt corner.

Here’s how some of the food looked like. I took some bee tai mak (also known colloquially as [rat noodles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_needle_noodles)), lor mai kai, steamed har gow, siew mai and a gyoza.

The DIY noodle soup lets you customise whichever ingredients you want, and you get to pick the noodle type. Mine was the flat rice noodles.

## Amenities

### Play room

There’s a play room for younger travellers with bean bags and some fun activities inside. This can be found in the separate section on the right of the dining hall. Looks fun though!

### Baby care room

There’s also a separate baby care room, as I saw on the signage. I didn’t go in however, but it’s definitely a good-to-have for families with babies.

### Showers

There are also quite a number of shower suites, I counted at least six suites, though there may be more. No queue when I used them in the morning.

*Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge T2 showers*

The shower rooms are generously sized, as each shower suite has a toilet and a shower together.

It’s still a bit disappointing that Singapore Airlines chose to stick with unbranded shampoo and shower gel, even after the toiletries refresh. The hand cream and perfume are now from **Payot’s Elixir** line, which replaced the ****Penhaligon’s**** range that was here until last year. But for the actual shower products, it’s generic.

### Toilet

The toilets are pretty well done. Marbled walls, wooden doors with clean finishings, and the overall build quality feels a cut above what you’d find in most airline lounges. **Payot** toiletries are available here too, along with rinsing cups and toothbrushes.

## Concluding thoughts

The SilverKris at Terminal 2 is in an interesting spot right now. It’s not a bad lounge, but it’s clearly running at reduced capacity while the renovation continues. The food is pretty okay, the showers are good, and the productivity pods are a warm welcome to catch up on some work before your flight. But the lack of a live barista, the limited views, the crowding at peak hours, and the generally smaller footprint compared to the one at Terminal 3 all make this feel like the lesser sibling.

At 7am, the lounge was very packed. I briefly thought about walking over to Terminal 3 just for the barista-made coffee, but didn’t have the time.

Once the expanded Business Class section opens, this comparison should look very different. Until then, if you have a choice of terminal or can route your connection through T3 (or just simply take the SkyTrain over if you have plenty of time), the SilverKris there remains the better experience.
