We had some time before a flight out of Terminal 2, so we went over to check out the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge here. If you’ve read our review of the Terminal 3 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, you’ll know we found that space genuinely impressive after its 2022 renovation. The Terminal 2 version is a different story entirely. This is not a lounge worth arriving early for. You’re only here because you have no other choice, and the place reflects that.
If you do have plenty of time before your Star Alliance Economy or Premium Economy flight, it’s worth considering the Changi Airport Skytrain over to Terminal 3 to use the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge there instead. The difference between the two is significant.
Location and access
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is located on Level 3 of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, near the E Gates. After clearing immigration, head left and follow the signage towards the Singapore Airlines lounges. Take the escalator up, and you’ll find the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge before you reach the SilverKris Lounge further down the corridor.

Access rules are the same as the Terminal 3 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members departing on Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance-operated flights in Premium Economy or Economy Class can enter. If you’re flying Business Class or First Class regardless of status, you’d be directed to the SilverKris Lounge instead. PPS Club members regardless of cabin class also go to SilverKris. Guest policies follow the standard Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance lounge access rules.
The lounge is open 24 hours.
Layout
The contrast with the Terminal 3 lounge is immediate. Where T3 is open-air with high ceilings and natural light, T2 is entirely enclosed. There are no tarmac views, no windows, and no sense of the airport outside. It feels like a large rectangular room, and a fairly compact one at that.

Seating is predominantly sofa-style chairs arranged in rows with side tables between them. That’s more or less it. There’s no variety to speak of: no work desks, no quiet zones, no booth seating, no partitioned areas. A few TVs are mounted at either end of the lounge.

Universal power sockets are available at most seats, which is at least one practical positive.

The overall footprint is small. If the T3 lounge feels like a proper modern airport lounge, the T2 version feels like a waiting room that happens to serve food.
Food and drinks
The food is buffet-style and largely the same as what you’d find at the Terminal 3 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge on any given day. Singapore Airlines appears to run the same menu across both lounges, so if you’ve visited T3, you know what to expect. The spread usually won’t change much. Nothing exciting.

The usual selection applies: hot buffet items, dim sum, and pastries. However, there isn’t even a live laksa station here.

Alcohol, beer, and soft drinks are available however.

There’s also some Oatside oat milk, sandwiches, salad, and some dessert.

Amenities
There are none. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Terminal 2 has no toilets or showers of its own. Need the washroom? You’ll have to step out and use the public terminal facilities, then come back in. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at T3 had the same problem before its 2022 refurbishment finally added restrooms and showers to that space. T2 still hasn’t caught up.
Singapore Airlines has announced plans to renovate the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at T2, with works expected to begin in the first half of 2026. The renovation will reportedly double the lounge’s size and finally introduce on-site restrooms and showers. As of our visit in April 2026, those works had not yet started. Until they do, the current state of affairs is what it is.

Concluding thoughts
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Terminal 2 is comfortably the least impressive lounge Singapore Airlines operates. The enclosed layout with no windows, the absence of any toilets or showers, and the compact footprint make it hard to justify spending more than the minimum necessary time here. The food mirrors what Terminal 3 offers (minus the laksa live station), but the setting you’re eating it in is a clear step down.
If your flight is departing from Terminal 2 and you have Star Alliance Gold status, this lounge will give you somewhere to sit and eat before boarding. That’s about the extent of what it offers. If you have time, take the Skytrain to Terminal 3 and use the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge there instead. The difference is night and day.
The planned renovation should bring this lounge up to a more acceptable standard, but until those works actually begin, this remains a lounge you use out of convenience rather than choice.
